Duane "Corky" Shull
Lead Guitar
|
| DOB: April 28, 1950 |
| GREW UP IN: Fairborn, Ohio |
| MUSIC BACKGROUND: Started music
at age 11 by playing piano, trumpet, and guitar. While in high school, rock & roll spawned the realization that
guitar would eventually be his primary instrument. Playing rock-n-roll in
many local clubs through the late 70's,
Corky eventually shifted to country music during the mid 80's where he
traveled throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. After a short hiatus through
the 90's, he regrouped with a country band once again and created a theatre play called "Yee Haw".
The show sold out almost every performance and was taped for local TV.
It still occasionally airs on the Fairborn access channel. Wanting
to continue into rock&roll, Corky reunited many members of the "Yee
Haw" gang and started the band. |
| MUSICAL INFLUENCES: Chet Atkins, Jerry Reid, Duane Eddy, Jimmy Burton, Les Paul, Ventures, and Lonnie Mack to name a few.
Special mention goes to Lonnie Coots who mentored Corky as early as
age 12 with several "finger pickin" styles, along with
many "guitar licks". |
